KUCHING, April 19: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has begun to gradually resume operations, as stated in a post on Twitter (X) at 10.10 a.m. today.

The operations resumed by reinstating flights to and from Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan on the evening of yesterday (April 18) in response to the prevailing weather conditions.

“This positive development follows the necessary flight cancellations due to the volcanic eruption at Mount Ruang, Indonesia,” MAS said in its statement.

Although the airline is working towards normalising operations as soon as possible, several flights scheduled for April 19, 2024, have been cancelled due to ongoing weather and safety concerns. The list of cancelled flights for today (April 19) is as follows:

  • MH2610 (KUL-BKI)
  • MH2611 (BKI-KUL)
  • MH2612 (KUL-BKI)
  • MH2621 (BKI-KUL)
  • MH2646 (KUL-BKI)
  • MH2641 (BKI-KUL)
  • MH2660 (KUL-TWU)
  • MH2661 (TWU-KUL)
  • MH2710 (KUL-SDK)
  • MH2711 (SDK-KUL)

Following this, MAS encourages passengers to update their contact details through their website to receive real-time notifications via email and SMS regarding any further changes to their flight.

The airline will provide periodic updates through its communication channels and directly to the affected customers as the situation evolves. — DayakDaily
