KUCHING, Aug 17: The Madani government ought to consider a cabinet reshuffle in view of minimal Malay support towards the administration, says Datuk Larry Sng Wei Shien.
In a Facebook post today, Sng opined that Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim should replace and promote experienced Malay MPs into his cabinet such as the likes of Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani (former Minister of Finance II) and Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (former Health Minister).
“Perhaps through the appointment of Senatorship even Khairy Jamaluddin should be considered,” he said.
According to Sng, the present set of ministers are still new to the job and have yet to leave their mark on policy matters.
However, he asserted, this government does not have the luxury of time as the people are feeling poorer and not enough is being done to address this.
“My only concern is that some in the government leadership may have the mindset of taking the people’s patience and support for granted.
“We must not forget that politics is dynamic and voters’ support can change accordingly. If one needs proof, just look at the recent State Election (PRN) results,” he added. — DayakDaily
