KUCHING, Sept 7: Four areas in Sarawak have recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings above 200, placing them in the ‘very unhealthy’ category as of 12pm today.
According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in an infographic shared by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the highest API reading is in Lundu with 260, followed by Samarahan at 236 and Serian and Kanowit with 222 each.
This is an increase from readings at 10am, whereby only Samarahan and Kanowit recorded readings above 200.
Meanwhile, most areas remained in the unhealthy level, namely Sarikei and Lubok Antu (197), Kuching (193), Sibu (185), Sri Aman (183), Mukah and Betong (182), Tebedu (177), Samalaju (175), Bintulu and ILP Miri (169), Miri (166), Lawas (149), and Limbang (138).
Only Kapit and Bario recorded moderate readings at 92 and 88, respectively. — DayakDaily
