Lukanisman, Zulhaidah and Bobby to square off in Sibuti

MIRI, Nov 5: Incumbent Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni is set to face a three-cornered battle for the P218 Sibuti federal seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Lukanisman, 40, who is the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth deputy chief, will defend the seat which he won in GE14 against Zulhaidah Suboh of Pakatan Harapan-Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PH-PKR) and Bobby William who is the president of Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS).

The trio were announced as candidates by returning officer Rohanie Yusof after their nomination papers were cleared by the Election Commission to enter the contest for Sibuti parliamentary seat after submitting their respectives nomination papers at Dewan Masyarakat Bekenu.

Earlier today, Lukanisman arrived at the Bekenu Community Hall nomination centre ahead of its 9am opening.

Accompanied him were his proposer Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Rosey Yunus and seconder Dr Ripin Lamat who is the Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development. Their arrival was greeted by GPS supporters from the surrounding area.

The Sibuti federal seat which was created in 2005 has been traditionally represented by PBB.

Meanwhile, Zulhaidah who is the PKR Sarawak Women chief and Bobby arrived at the nomination centre at 8.54am and 9am respectively.

Zulhaidah’ proposer and seconder were Ladik Jupong and Norhafizah Mohd Joharie respectively, while Bobby’s proposer and seconder were Siti Berangkut and Rusty Wati respectively. — DayakDaily
