Luck runs out for two fuel thieves

MIRI, July 22: Two people were arrested by police here on Friday afternoon for stealing fuel.

The duo have been allegedly involved in a series of fuel theft activities mainly in Taman Tunku for the past few weeks prior to their arrest.

The suspects who are in their late 20’s were arrested at 2pm in the Quadruplex housing area, Permyjaya here following a public tip-off on their whereabouts.

According to sources, the brazen fuel thieves targetted cars parked within the residential area to siphon fuel out of the vehicles.

However, on July 20, a car owner spotted them in the act in Taman Tunku. Terrified, the suspects fled the scene.

Fortunately, the owner remembered the suspects’ car plate number and passed the information on to the police. With the information given, police managed to track down the suspects. — DayakDaily
