KUCHING, Oct 7: A couple in their 50s have been ordered to be of good behaviour for two years after a loud confrontation with the woman’s ex-husband spiralled out of control inside a police station.

The order was handed down by Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan after Tze Horng, 54, a lecturer, and Jee Foon, 54, an English teacher, pleaded guilty midway through their trial.

The incident took place around 9pm on August 4, 2024, when the couple turned up at a police station and got into a heated exchange with Jee Foon’s ex-husband, Tiam Hee, 54.

A police officer on duty reported that the trio had arrived in separate vehicles and began arguing loudly outside the station.

During the scuffle, Tze Horng was seen recording the confrontation with his phone while Jee Foon raised her voice, provoking her ex-husband further.

Attempts by the officer to calm them down were ignored, and the quarrel continued even after they entered the station to file separate reports, creating chaos and disrupting operations.

Police later arrested all three for disorderly conduct under the Police Act 1967.

Further investigation showed that the fight stemmed from a dispute over matrimonial property following Jee Foon’s divorce from Tiam Hee in May 2023.

Earlier, in January 2025, Tiam Hee, who works as a mechanic, was fined RM2,000 or one month’s jail after admitting to the same offence.

It was later revealed that Tze Horng and Jee Foon had known each other since their school days in 1981, but lost touch after going to different schools.

Jee Foon went on to marry Tiam Hee and have a son, while Tze Horng remained single, saying he never forgot his first love.

More than four decades later, the two reconnected during a school reunion, rekindling their relationship soon after Jee Foon’s divorce.

Their revived romance, however, also reignited old tensions—leading to the altercation that landed them in court. — DayakDaily
