Lorry driver on drugs arrested, 5.5g of meth seized

MIRI, March 15: A 24-year-old lorry driver was arrested by the police yesterday after he was found with methamphetamine amounting to RM850 in market value.

The suspect, believed to be involved in drug abused, was nabbed during an operation carried out along Miri-Bintulu road nearby Lambir around 11pm.


Further checked on the suspect, police discovered a transparent plastic packet believed to be methamphetamine weighing around 5.5 gramme.

The suspect was brought to Miri Central police station (CPS) for questioning. A urine test was conducted and turned out positive.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
