BETONG, Nov 1: The longhouse chiefs in Spaoh called on Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas to defend his Bukit Saban seat in the upcoming 12th Sarawak Election (PRN12).
Uggah who is Deputy Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the nine longhouse chiefs including Joseph Suat, the chairman of the Spaoh Longhouse Chief’s Association who while representing 43 longhouse chiefs wanted the former to continue representing the Bukit Saban constituency in the coming state election during an event here last night.
Uggah who is Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy president also called on PBB leaders at the grassroots level in Betong to be familiar with the various Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government development policies formulated for the benefit of the people.
“All party leaders must be proactive in finding ways to assist the government in uplifting the peoples’ living standard through income generating programmes and activities.
“The Wanita and Pemuda leaders should effectively disseminate information and share their knowledge with the people including the farmers.
“In this way, they would be of a great service,” he said during the launching of Bukit Saban GPS roadshow as well as the launching of PBB Brutan Ulu sub branch at Rh. Hendary Jawan in Serudit Atas here last night.
Uggah who is Second Finance Minister also presented a body temperature scanner and a television monitor to chairman of SRK Paku Sentral in Spaoh, Tr Reselly Ujie for the school in its effort to curb the Covid-19 virus at one of the events.
Uggah was accompanied by Dr Richard Rapu, a political secretary to the Chief Minister. —DayakDaily
