According to the charge, the offense was committed at the Gita Police Station around 8.20am on July 17.

The case facts revealed that an investigating officer re-interviewed the accused, who claimed he was robbed by four individuals on two motorcycles in front of an eatery at Metrocity. The accused alleged that the robbers, armed with a meat cleaver, demanded that he hand over all his money.

In his fabricated account, the accused claimed he handed over RM460 to one of the robbers.

However, investigations revealed that the accused had made a false police report and that no such incident occurred at the mentioned location.

After further investigation, the accused admitted that he fabricated the story because he had used the money to pay off debts.
