KUCHING, Oct 18: The gutter replacement project worth RM444,172.67 implemented in Taman Flora Indah Flat at Jalan Arang has been completed within the allotted timeframe.

The completed project was handed over by Housing Development Corporation (HDC) engineer Hassan Hazli Huspi to the Taman Flora Indah committee chairman Ong Liang Boo during a simple ceremony today, and witnessed by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang.

Lo, who is also assemblyman for N.13 Batu Kitang, said the project which started on Sept 1, was completed six week earlier than scheduled (Nov 30, 2021).

“The gutter replacement project is 100 per cent completed. Apart from the gutter replacement project, HDC also replace the staircase lighting in every block of Taman Flora Indah flat.

“MPP also have cleaned up the septic tanks in all 18 blocks of Taman Flora Indah Flat, which is paid by HDC,” he told reporters when met after inspecting the completion of gutter replacement project in Taman Flora Indah Flat at Jalan Arang, here today.

The gutter replacement project was one of the facilities improvement project that had been requested by the Taman Flora Indah flat residents.

The project was funded by Ministry of Local Government and Housing (MLGH)’s Housing Maintenance Programme (PPP) and implemented by HDC. It was carried out to all 18 blocks of Taman Flora Indah flat involving 576 units.

Meanwhile, Lo disclosed there is a plan to turn the many empty spaces around the Taman Flora Indah flat into parking spaces, to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles of the flat occupants.

“I have plan to extend the carpark here and it need to be done after the strata titles are out. But all this can only be done when the strata titles have been issued, and I will discuss this matter with the chairman and block leaders here,” he added.

Lo also advised the flat residents to refrain from conducting any illegal extension on their property to avoid any complication, because the process of acquiring the strata title by HDC is now at the final stage.

“I appeal to everybody to be patient. So please, do not have any unauthorised extension before the strata titles are out,” he said. — DayakDaily.
