Lions Nursing Home hopes for govt aid to help its elderly residents

KUCHING, Feb 17: Lions Nursing Home Kuching (LNHK) is hoping that the Sarawak government would come to its rescue by providing more funds for its urgent needs.

LNHK chairwomen Datin Ellis Suriyati in a statement today said that at present, there are nearly 40 residents and as many as 50 salaried staff.

“The nursing home also has been unable to make ends meet due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the past two years,” she emphasised.

She added that due to the pandemic, LNHK also needs to filter applications cautiously and it is believed that admission rates will increase in the near future.

Meanwhile, Ellis expressed her gratitude to Sarawak Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) and Sheda Kuching Branch for donating daily necessities to the nursing home, recently.

“I would also like to thanked Sheda for hosting a luncheon and giving out red envelopes to the residents,” she said.

The donation was handed over to the nursing home by the both Sheda Sarawak and Sheda Kuching branch during a visit led by Sheda Kuching branch chairman Dato Sim Kiang Chiok.

Apart from both group, Lepapa Group also sponsored daily necessities for the nursing home. — DayakDaily.
