KUCHING, Dec 5: Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) president Lina Soo has alleged that Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng was practicing double standards for having one set of laws for himself and another set for others.
In a press statement today, Soo said Wee had recently issued a directive to political parties not to put up party flags before the election campaigning period but noticed that there were Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) flags being put up at Padungan roundabout yesterday, two days before nomination day.
Thus, Soo called on Wee, the GPS candidate for the Padungan seat, to practice what he preaches.
“Recalling that Mayor Wee had just issued a directive to political parties not to put up party flags before election campaigning period had started, he is now guilty of committing the very same offence he had accused others of, by putting up GPS flags at the roundabout at Padungan two days before nomination day,” she said.
In the meantime, Soo has requested Wee to take down the GPS flags without any further delay as to not commit any election offence. — DayakDaily
