LIMBANG, Feb 19: As recovery efforts are ongoing to restore water pressure in the Limbang District, Laku Management Sdn Bhd has discovered a new 150mm DI Bridge Crossing main burst at Lubok Piasau Bridge today.
The affected areas include Kampung Lubok Sigantang/Aur and Kampung Lubok Piasau.
“Laku, in collaboration with Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), will consistently dispatch water tankers and bottled drinking water as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), with a total of 388,000 litres (71 trips) of treated water and 1,264 boxes of bottled drinking water were distributed to the residents of the affected area.
“The affected area has shown a progressive sign of pressure recovery. To ensure smooth and consistent recovery during this buffer period, our team continues to carry out repair works with anticipated completion within 24 hours.
“Once this process is finalised, the water supply will gradually return to normal across all affected areas,” it said in a statement today.
Laku further said during the restoration process, the water supply may appear turbid or dirty after the repair work.
To counteract this, its teams will conduct comprehensive flushing activities to ensure water supply cleanliness and safety.
“Water tankers are also being despatched to the affected kampung. Should you need this service, please contact our hotline.
“Additionally, we’ve established a water collection point at the Tedungan shop lot for residents in urgent need of water. Feel free to bring your water containers for collection at any time,” it added.
The company also urged consumers to rely on official sources for accurate updates and to disregard unverified information.
