Liew returned unopposed as Advocates Association of Sarawak Kuching branch chief

KUCHING, Jan 22: Senior lawyer Liew Tang Chieh has returned unopposed as Advocates Association of Sarawak (AAS) Kuching branch chairman.

Similarly, Benny Zaidy Jalil was elected unopposed as the branch new vice-chairman during the branch’s annual general meeting held on Nov 22, 2024 at the Auditorium, Ultimate Professional Centre, Jalan Bukit Mata, Kuching.

With Liew and Benny Zaidy, a new committee has been elected for a two-year term from 2024 until 2026.

Emeirc Teo was elected branch secretary while Nicholas Wung, returned unopposed as branch treasurer.

Bartholomew Lopez, Alan Bong Kit Khoon, Daniel Ling and Dayangku Sa’adiah Awang Hipni were re-elected as committee members.

They are joined by new committee members Sylvester Lai and Russell Lim.

In a press statement today, the branch extends its its appreciation and special thanks to the outgoing vice-chairman Desmond Sahathevan and committee member Catherine David for their services and contributions during their tenure as committee members for 2022 to 2024. — DayakDaily
