KUCHING, Oct 30: Lundu in Sarawak and Telupid in Sabah have continued to be placed on Level 1 alert due to ongoing hot weather conditions.
In an advisory issued today, Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) also forecasted high temperatures that have placed Kemaman in Terengganu on alert.
A Level 1 alert is issued when the daily maximum temperature reaches between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.
Maximum temperature readings were updated at 6am today.
MetMalaysia’s hot weather alerts are categorised into three levels: Level 1 (Alert) for daily maximum temperatures of 35-37°C, Level 2 (Heat Wave) when temperatures exceed 37°C to 40°C for at least three consecutive days, and Level 3 (Extreme Heat Wave) if temperatures reach 40°C or higher for three consecutive days. — DayakDaily
