MIRI, Sept 24: Lunbawang pride is heading for the national stage as Lawas beauty Stacy Rosedyana Sigar prepares to showcase her community’s rich heritage while representing Sarawak at Miss Heritage Malaysia 2026.
According to a report by TVS, she sees the national stage as a great honour and an opportunity to showcase the richness of Lunbawang culture while representing Sarawak and her community with pride.
She said her preparations covered physical, mental, intellectual, emotional and spiritual aspects, with support from her family, team, friends and the people of Sarawak.
“Among the heritage elements I will showcase are the beauty of Lunbawang beadwork, traditional attire, as well as the positive values of the community, including hospitality and strong family ties.
“Of course, I will showcase the uniqueness of Lunbawang culture from Sarawak. I want to bring the beauty of Lunbawang beadwork, which is very intricate, the elegance of traditional attire that is rich in meaning, as well as positive values of the Lunbawang community such as hospitality and strong family ties,” she said when met by TVS at Miri Airport here today.
For Stacy, the competition is not merely about winning, but about delivering her best performance and sharing Sarawak’s story with a national audience.
She said the opportunity was proof that young women from Lawas could stand proudly on the national stage, adding that winning would simply be a bonus for Sarawak.
“I want to encourage Sarawak’s youth not to be ashamed of their roots and to continue preserving their respective heritage and cultures.
“Our heritage and culture are our identity. We can embrace modernity and succeed anywhere. Continue wearing our traditional attire, speaking our native languages and being proud to be Sarawakians,” she added.
Stacy hopes her participation will bring pride to her family and Sarawak while introducing the State’s diverse heritage to people across Malaysia.
Miss Heritage Malaysia 2026 is being held from Sept 24 to 28 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. — DayakDaily
