KUCHING, Sept 24: A 52-year-old man was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) after he was found unconscious and trapped inside a Toyota Vios following a four-vehicle crash along Jalan Canna here last night (Sept 23).
The man was subsequently extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and handed over to Ministry of Health (MOH) ambulance personnel for further treatment.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak, the crash occurred at about 8.37pm and involved a Toyota Vios, Honda BR-V, Honda CR-V and Toyota Harrier.
Firefighters from the Bomba Tabuan Jaya Station arrived at the scene at about 8.45pm and found the victim unconscious inside the Vios.
Operation commander PBK I Haryati Abdullah said the vehicle’s door could not be opened from the outside, prompting firefighters to use special equipment to extricate the victim.
CPR was administered to the victim before he was handed over to MOH ambulance personnel for further treatment.
The operation, involving eight firefighters, concluded at 9.39pm.
Six personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and three MOH personnel also assisted at the scene.
The victim’s current condition has yet to be determined. – DayakDaily
