Latter-day Saint Charities donates medical equipment worth RM1.28 mln to 152 rural clinics in S’wak

KUCHING, Nov 25: Latter-day Saints (LDS) Charities has donated medical equipment worth RM1.28 million to 152 rural clinics in Sarawak.

LDS Charities representative Elder Roger Baer handed over the donations to Sarawak Health Department director Dr Ooi Choo Huck in a simple ceremony held at the Old Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) building here today.

Present to witness the handover was Sarawak Deputy Premier of Sarawak-cum-Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

The 153 items came in the form of maternal healthcare, infant and child healthcare, emergency, critical care and early detection of disease.

The handover ceremony titled ‘Hope Project: Touching More Lives’ was made possible through the Rotary Club of Bintulu Central (RCBC) led by president Allen Wong Chin Seng.

Also present were past Rotary district governors Datuk Zainie Abdul Aucasa, Andre Suharto and Dolly Yeap. — DayakDaily
