Land and Survey Dept stopped attempts to illegally transport rocks out of Long Silat, Miri

Heavy machinery involved in the illegal removal of rock materials at Long Silat, Miri which have been seized.

KUCHING, Oct 22: Enforcement Unit of the Land and Survey Department has foiled an attempt to transport our rock materials without permission from Long Silat in Miri Division.

In a press statement yesterday, the Department disclosed that during the operation, nine heavy machinery which were used for the illegal activities had been seized as evidence for investigation.

These activities were successfully detected as a result of intelligence and patrols carried out.


The case will be investigated under section 32A of the State Land Code (Chapter 81).

Following this, individuals or companies who wish to carry out dredging or transfer activities of rock materials are to first refer to the Land and Survey Department in the nearest Division for further advice to avoid any enforcement action.
