LAMBIR, Dec 23: Lambir assemblyman Dr Ripin Lamat has called on contractors to fix the Lambir stretch of the Pan Borneo Highway as the bad condition not only caused inconvenience but is hazardous for motorists.
Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported that Ripin inspected several locations along the Lambir stretch of the highway following complaints from road users yesterday (Dec 22).
“With the ongoing rainy season, the road needs to be in good condition so that motorists can travel safely.
“I have asked the contractors involved to fix the road surface immediately,” he said.
Noting that construction work for the Lambir stretch of Pan Borneo Highway is ongoing, Ripin emphasised that road users have no choice but to continue using the road to reach their destination. — DayakDaily
