KUCHING, Feb 16: Water supply in several areas in Limbang has been restored.
In a statement today, Laku Management Sdn Bhd said water pressure had been restored to one bar at Tedungan, Kampung (Kpg) Mengatai, Kpg Ulak, Kpg Belading, Kpg Anak Bukit, Kpg Kuala Awang, Kpg Binjai, Kpg Ipai, Kpg Merasam Bumbun, Kpg Meritam, Kpg Telahak, and Kpg Lubok Piasau.
According to the management, at the moment, only Kpg Lubok Sigantang/Aur is without water supply.
“Laku, in collaboration with the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), is still consistently dispatching water tankers and bottled drinking water as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), with a total of 225,000 litres (42 trips) of treated water and 710 boxes of bottled drinking water were distributed to the residents of the affected area.
“Our team has completed the repair of major pipe leaks and is following up on the release of the ‘air lock’ from the water mains, with the anticipated completion of this task within 24 hours.
“Once this process is finalised, the water supply will gradually return to normal across all affected areas,” it said.
Laku also advises consumers to be aware that the water supply might appear turbid or dirty immediately after restoration due to the repair process.
“To counteract this, our teams will conduct comprehensive flushing activities to ensure the water supply’s cleanliness and safety,” it added.
The company also urges consumers to rely on official sources for accurate updates and to disregard unverified information.
