BINTULU, 9 June: Laila Taib College in Sibu is offering free education to seven courses within the diploma-level programme for qualified Sarawakians and Malaysians.
According to a news report by TV Sarawak (TVS), the diploma courses offered are namely business management, architecture, accounting, interior architecture, electrical and electronic engineering, quantity surveying, and civil engineering, each with a study period of two years and four months.
The marketing officer of Laila Taib College, Dennis Meringgai, said that SPM graduates can study for free at the college with just three credits.
“The minimum requirement for SPM graduates is to only pass with three credits and must pass Bahasa Melayu and History to be eligible for application at Laila Taib College,” said Dennis when met by reporters during the Laila Taib College Tour Programme at Times Square, Bintulu yesterday (June 8).
The sponsorship, he said, will include tuition fees as well as the accommodation facilities throughout the period of study at the college.
“We will give scholarships as well as full sponsorship for free, 100 per cent of the programmes from Laila Taib College for free, meaning the tuition fees and the accommodations will be free as well,” he said.
For those SPM leavers who are qualified, they will be offered direct entry to the college for June 2024 admission, said Dennis, and added that the college admission is divided into three sessions, namely in March, June, and November.
The Laila Taib College Tour Programme takes place for two days, from June 8 to June 9, aiming to engage SPM graduates and their parents to provide a clear explanation of the courses offered at the Laila Taib College. — DayakDaily
