KWB closes service counter, staff tests positive of Covid-19

KUCHING, Jan 28: The Kuching Water Board (KWB) will close its Customer Service and Payment Counter with immediate effect for 2 weeks from tomorrow (Jan 29) till February 12, 2021.

In a 4-paragraph statement, KWB said it took drastic measure after one of its staff from the Customer Service and Payment Counter was tested positive of Covid-19 today (Jan 28).

“Kuching Water Board will close our Customer Service and Payment Counter with immediate effect for two weeks from January 29-February 12, 2021

“The said staff last entry to Kuching Water Board was on Monday, January, 25 2021,” reads the statement from KWB general manager’s office today.

It also explained that the batch of colleagues identified by the Ministry of Health as close contact to the said staff have been advised to home quarantine and arranged to undergone Covid-19 test.

“As precautionary measure, Kuching Water Board will carry out to sanitise our entire premise at Jalan Batu Lintang this evening and rest assure we will strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by State Disaster management Committee (SDMC),” the statement added. — DayakDaily
