KUCHING, June 19: Kuching’s Got Talent 2024 is off to a strong start, with STM Lottery Sdn Bhd, a long-time major sponsor, contributing RM40,000 to the event.
According to Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, STM Lottery has generously supported the Kuching Festival Food Fair as a main sponsor since 1988.
The sponsorship was formalised with the handing over of a mock cheque from STM Lottery to MBKS during a ceremony today at the MBKS complex here.
“Kuching’s Got Talent 2024, which will be held in conjunction with the Kuching Festival, is expected to attract more participants from various talent categories,” Wee told reporters during a press conference.
He said the competition will feature three main categories: dancing, singing, and other talents.
“Auditions for the event are scheduled to take place on July 6 and 7 at the MBKS Auditorium from 1pm to 6pm.
“The semi-finals and finals will be held on Aug 10 and 11 respectively, at the MBKS Theatre (Floating Stage) within the City Hall compound, starting at 7pm,” he added.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to STM Lottery Sdn Bhd for their substantial contribution and unwavering support for Kuching’s Got Talent.
Also present at the mock cheque handover were STM Lottery’s manager (Communication and Sustainability), Yip Bing Tsong (KL HQ); senior area sales executive (Kuching Area), Helen Tan Puay Cheng; area sales executive (Kuching Branch), Florence Loo Yi Yuh; assistant regional manager (Sarawak), Henry Liew Se Min; and chairman for Kuching Festival Main Committee, councillor Mok Chuang Ping. — DayakDaily
