Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 auditions on July 1 and 2, finale set for Aug 13

KUCHING, June 8: Auditions for Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 will be held from July 1 to 2 at MBKS Auditorium while the semifinals and the grand finale have been set for Aug 12 to 13.

Apart from cash prizes totalling RM22,600, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said there “could be a ‘ticket’ for the winners to get themselves signed up by recording companies”.

“There is also a Facebook Most-liked Award open for the finalists’ supporters to vote via Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 Facebook Fan page.

“The voting process will be closed after the last performance of the last group of that category during the final on Aug 13, 2023,” said Wee in a press conference here today.

The first place winner in the 13-year-old Singing Category and Dancing Category will bag a trophy and RM3,000 cash prize while the first runner-up will get a trophy and RM2,000, and the second runner-up a trophy and RM1,000.

There will also be seven consolation prizes comprising a trophy and RM100 each for those who make it to the semifinals for the top 10.

For winners in the 12-year-old and below Singing Category, the champion will go home with a trophy and RM1,500 while the first runner-up will get a trophy and RM1,000 and the second runner-up, a trophy and RM500.

There will also be seven consolation prizes comprising a trophy and RM100 each for the next seven best performing acts.

Meanwhile, RM500 will be awarded to the winner of the Facebook Most-liked Award.

Wee said local industry experts, music producers, famous singers, dancers and choreographers, and managing directors from recording companies will be invited to judge the competition.

There is no gender, age or race limitation for this talent show. Those participating may take part as an individual or a group.

Parents’ or guardians’ signatures will be required for applicants aged below 18.

Hardcopies of the application form are available at the MBKS lobby (security counter) while online applications may be submitted via MBKS’ official website (https:/mbks.sarawak.gov.my).

All applications must be received on or by 4.30pm on June 26 (Monday).
