Kuching Taekwondo and Self-Defence Club secures 3 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze medals at national competition in KL

KUCHING, Dec 19: Young athletes from Kuching Taekwondo and Self-Defence Club (WTF) bagged three gold, two silver and five bronze medals at the recently concluded 10th Taekwondo Malaysia (WTF) Interclub Taekwondo Championship 2023 in Kuala Lumpur.

According to a media release today, the team, led by coach Tan Cheng Qiang, demonstrated outstanding performances in both the sparring and poomsae events of the national competition which attracted around 1,000 participants.

In the Kyorugi events, Mohamad Zulhafiz Zulhadi and Syamimi Lee Xing clinched gold.

AJ Ong Yang Yi contributed a silver medal, while Puteri Durratun Zulaikha Samat and Syamimi Lee Xing showcased remarkable skills in the Female Open category, earning two bronze medals.

In the Poomsae events, Siti Yusriyyah Zailani, Farah Nabilla Maddarus, and Veviorina Twin teamed up to secure a gold medal in the Senior Female Team category.

Zara Nur Zafirah Mohd Yusof earned a silver medal in the Junior Female Individual category.

Meanwhile, Harry Daniel Hunter and Fedealis Kom Twin secured bronze medals with the last bronze medal being achieved in the Junior Mix-Pair category. — DayakDaily
