Kuching Resident visits landslide locations of SK Puruh Karu, Kpg Sadir, Kpg Sibakar Road

KUCHING, Dec 27: Kuching Division Resident Norleha Sariff inspects several landslide locations in Padawan including SK Puruh Karu, Kampung Sadir, and the Kampung Sibakar Road.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit’s (Ukas), the landslide at the Kampung Sibakar road was especially serious that it had resulted in the road being cut off.

Norleha who visited these locations yesterday on behalf of Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the purpose of the inspection was to assess the damage and to grant necessary funds for the much-needed repairs.

Norleha also took the opportunity to pay a goodwill visit to the homes of village chief Karu Boing Sejim, village chief Sadir Bobby Ham, and village chief Sibakar Siang Rant in conjunction with the Christmas Day celebration.

Also present were Kuching District Officer Sofhi Jebal, Padawan Sub-district Office administrative officer Julius Scott Sapong, Public Works Department (JKR) officers of the Kuching Division, and officers from the Kuching Divisional Resident Office and the Kuching District Office. — DayakDaily
