KUCHING, Feb 9: A reporter with a local English daily has been placed under house quarantine after it was suspected she may have crossed paths with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

According to the reporter, she had interviewed five foreigners from China in a shopping mall in Kuching.

The 24-year-old woman later felt unwell and showed symptoms of respiratory illness. She was immediately admitted to the hospital on February 6.

She was subsequently quarantined at the hospital for three days. She and her family were later asked to self-quarantine at home for fourteen days after she was discharged from the hospital.

Blood and saliva samples have been collected and sent for testing. The results are pending. — DayakDaily
