KUCHING, Sept 14: A total of 84 compounds have been issued to violators of the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) set by the Malaysian government from Sept 7 to Sept 13 this year.
Kuching district acting police chief Supt Merbin Lisa said 72 out of the 84 compounds were issued to customers as well as owners of bistro and KTV located at Saradise area, OSCR Commercial Centre, Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli and Stutong Baru.
“The remaining 12 compounds were issued to the public who did not comply to the SOP at public places such as the Waterfront area and food premises nearby,” he said in a press statement.
According to Merbin, stern action would be taken towards any individuals including the owner of the entertainment centres if they failed to adhere to the SOP during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period.
“Police will continue their monitoring and inspection at all the premises in the state to make sure that all of the premises are complying to the SOP, including wearing a face mask in public places,” he added.-DayakDaily
