Kuching man killed in Jalan Sibu-Bintulu collision

SIBU, Aug 24: An assistant clerk was killed after the car that he was driving collided head-on with a cargo lorry at Mile 23, Jalan Sibu-Bintulu yesterday

The deceased, 30, was from Kuching and working for an oil and gas company in Bintulu.

“The accident happened at about 4.15pm when the lorry, driven by a 54-year-old man was on its way from Bintulu to Sibu,” said Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit today.


He added that the deceased lost control of his car travelling in the opposite direction and crashed into the head of the lorry.

As a result of the collision, the car was badly damaged.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
