KUCHING, Aug 21: Kuching Food Festival (KFF) 2023 hit the 1-million visitors mark as its curtains fell last night (Aug 20).
This was revealed by Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, in a Facebook post last night.
“Thanks (to) everyone’s support; we crossed the 1 million visitors (target), making it (the) most successful event in Sarawak again! Truly sharing the best of Sarawak.
“Thank you for the creativity and entrepreneurship for each of the 330 stalls’ hardwork, passion for the contractors, the staffs, the councillors and Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) for another successful Kuching Festival,” he wrote.
Dr Sim who is also Sarawak Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG) further shared 20 photos of his visit to the KFF site with Ambassador of The People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing and MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.
KFF was held from July 28 until Aug 20 at the MBKS Community Hall compound, boasting 330 food and beverage stalls including the Unesco Creative Cities Network (UCCN) Chef’s Table at the Kuching Creative City pavilion.
The festival also featured familiar rides, games of skills, and garden displays as well as various entertainment stages including Chinese traditional music concerts, folk dances, martial art displays, Kuching’s Got Talent, and so on.
Meanwhile, the Indoor Trade Fair featured 100 booths exhibiting a wide variety of products including technology-related items, machinery, fitness equipment, telecommunication devices, furniture, household goods, clothing, accessories and many more. — DayakDaily
