KUCHING, March 14: More than 700 people have already collected application forms for this year’s Kuching Food Festival 2026, with the deadline to submit completed documents set for Tuesday March 17, at 4pm.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng urged vendors who have not yet applied to collect forms by Monday (March 16) and submit them to counters 8 and 9 at MBKS Headquarters before the March 17 deadline.
“Please remember not to miss this opportunity because once the application closes, no documents will be accepted afterward. Make sure to take note,” he said during his ShallWeeTalk Facebook Live today.
Wee also encouraged applicants to showcase their creativity in food menus by taking photos of their dishes and clearly documenting their ideas.
“This allows the selection committee to better assess participants and consider how to feature them on the festival platform.
“The Kuching Food Festival is an opportunity to highlight the city’s culinary excellence on a global stage. We hope all interested vendors take this chance and submit their applications on time,” he added.
The annual festival, returning from July 22 to Aug 16, promises to be bigger and more international, with participants from dozens of countries expected to join the celebration of Sarawak’s rich culinary diversity.
Applications are open for half stalls, single stalls, and premium stalls, catering to a wide range of vendors.
Due to the festival being extended by two days, the half stall fee has been increased from RM650 to RM700, while other rates remain consistent with previous years. Fees are RM700 for half stalls, RM1,000 for single stalls, and RM3,900 for premium stalls, with a refundable deposit of RM300 required for all applicants. — DayakDaily
