KUCHING, Aug 21: The era of scratch coupons has come to an end as Kuching motorists can now enjoy the convenience of a fully digital parking system through the BorneoParkKCH mobile app.
The app, officially launched as part of the city’s push towards digitalisation, serves as a one-stop platform where drivers can register their vehicles, reload credit, and purchase parking or seasonal passes directly from their phones.
It is currently available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. According to information provided in the app, the system has been effective since August 11, 2025.
A step-by-step video guide released by the Kuching City Parking System (KCPS) demonstrates how easy it is to use. Registration begins with a simple sign-up process requiring an email, name, mobile number, and password. An activation code is then sent to the user’s email for account verification.
After logging in, users can add their car details such as plate number, brand, model, and colour. The app supports multiple vehicles under a single account, making it convenient for families or households with more than one car.
For payments, the reload function is integrated with Sarawak Pay, ensuring a smooth and cashless transaction process. Once funds are added, drivers can purchase daily parking sessions or opt for a season pass. By selecting their vehicle and desired parking zone, the season pass will be activated and displayed under “New Season Purchase” on the app’s homepage.
Officials say the move will not only simplify parking for road users but also improve monitoring and enforcement.
