KUCHING Apr 18: Kuching District police station is prepared and ready to assist with crowd control at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) during the withdrawal of Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) starting Apr 18, 2020.

“A total of seven police officers will be stationed at the two BSN Branch located in Kuching,” Kuching District Chief Police, Awang Din said in the press statement.

“The police will be stationed from 8 am to 3 pm,” he added.

According to Awang, he had met with the BSN manager at BSN Satok branch on Apr 17 2020 and had discussed the preparation done by the bank during the withdrawal of BPN.

“From what I had observed on Saturday at 8 am, the public who had gone to BSN for the withdrawal did keep their distance among each other by following the sign which the bank had set,” Awang said.

He pointed out that RELA had also helped the bank in controlling the crowd and sanitizer had been prepared for the customers by the bank.

“People who had entered the bank had their body temperature checked and only three persons were allowed to go into the bank at one time,” he said.

He later said that the two BSN branches were all under control and no misfortune had happened during the event. —DayakDaily
