KUCHING, July 14: The Kuching Dayak Doctorate Degree Holders’ Association (KDDDHA) and SMK Tebakang in Serian signed a memorandum of synergy (MOS) to assist student development by giving occasional talks on academic growth and opportunities, civic awareness, and other socio-cultural development and issues.
According to a statement, the MOS was signed by KDDDHA secretary Dr Ambrose Dango and SMK Tebakang’s principal, Benjamin Spencer Latip.
Earlier, four of the association’s committee members took part in a seminar and motivational talk programme for 249 Form 5 students.
KDDDHA’s speakers comprised Ambrose, deputy treasurer Dr Cliffton Akoi, and committee members Supt. Dr Collin Babat and Dr Ricky Lawe.
Ambrose focused on technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), while Cliffton’s talk was titled ‘Education for the Future’.
Meanwhile, Collin touched on crime among the youth and Ricky’s talk was entitled ‘Success is Mine’.
The association, registered in March 2024, welcomes Dayak PhD and Doctorate holders to join and contribute to its goals of working with and for the community in various capacities according to the expertise of the members.
KDDDHA aims to serve as a bridge connecting communities to development, empowering them to become self-reliant and ‘berdiri sama tinggi, duduk sama rendah’ with other communities. — DayakDaily
