KPDNHEP: Consumers urged to lodge complaints on price hike

BAU, May 22: Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) state director Datuk Stanley Tan has urged the public to lodge complaints to the Ministry against price hike by traders under the ‘Skim Harga Maksimum Musim Perayaan (SHMMP)’.

He said the ministry will act immediately upon receiving such complaints from the public.

“I will like to advise the public to lodge complaints if they come across any traders who failed to comply with the SHMMP.


“And on our part, we will sprang immediately, once we receive such complaints,” he assured.

He said this to reporters after visiting Bau wet market and Everwin Supermarket, here today, accompanied by Serumbu assemblyman Miro Simuh and state KPDNKK enforcement officers.

“He said the SHMMP takes effect from May 22 until June 3, adding that complaints can be made at KPDNKK enforcement command centres (ECC) across the state.

For Kuching, complaints can be made at 082-466052, Sibu (084-335622), Sarikei (084-657751), Sri Aman (083-323836),Kapit (084-799678), Mukah (084-872726), Miri (085-412862), Bintulu (086-332176) and Limbang (085-217414).

“Complaints can also be made through WhatsApp at 019-2294317,” he added.

Meanwhile, Stanley said he was satisfied with the prices of goods at the two businesses premises that they visited.

He assured that the ministry would continue to conduct checks to ensure that traders fully comply with the SHMMP. – DayakDaily
