Kota Sentosa road infrastructure needs improvement, especially at 7th Mile Commercial Centre, says DAP’s Kong

Michael Kong

KUCHING, May 26: Special assistant to Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian is urging the authorities to address the deplorable road conditions in Kota Sentosa, particularly the vicinity of the 7th Mile Commercial Centre.

According to a statement issued by Kong, not only are road users dealing with the slow construction of the flyovers at 6th and 7th Mile, but there is also a lack of proper lighting for main roads such as Jalan Liu Shan Bang and Jalan Penrissen.

“This is simply unacceptable, especially since all of the affected roads serve thousands of people residing from the 7th Mile onwards, such as Jalan Stakan, Jalan Penrissen, 9th Mile, 10th Mile, and so on.

“These are not new issues, and they have been brought to the attention of the relevant authorities on numerous occasions, but the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak and/or Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) have taken no action.

“It is time that the authorities do something about this long outstanding issue,” he asserted. — DayakDaily
