KUCHING, March 17: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap urges the younger generation in Sarawak Pui Clan Association to strive continuously in their education for better academic results.

In a statement today, Yap said that a highly educated population is one of the key objectives under Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) as it will attract foreign investors, who will create more job opportunities.

“Any persons with a good education will also be able to get better-paying jobs,” he said in his remarks before presenting Sarawak Pui Clan Association education awards to various recipients here today.

Yap also commended the association for its past and present contributions towards charity and the welfare of the less fortunate in the local community.

“These include clan cultural preservation, the development of Chinese education, talent development, the Sarawak Chinese community and Sarawak nation-building.”

He elaborated that the spirit of unity, perseverance, and nation-building is more important than ever at this critical stage of Sarawak’s development.

“Let us accelerate our PCDS 2030 so that we can be the most prosperous in the nation with a high-income State and high household income.

“We must continue to fortify our inclusivity and be most environmentally sustainable in the nation earlier than 2030 by the way of Sarawak’s ‘best of’ spirit,” he said.

Yap also gave a RM3,000 grant to the association to support its activities. ā€” DayakDaily
