KUCHING, March 8: Upgrading works for two recreational parks costing RM150,000 by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) under Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap’s rural transformation project (RTP) has been completed.
In a statement today, Yap said the combined sum of RM150,000 was for upgrading works for the recreational parks at Lorong 7, Semaba Park, costing RM100,000 and at Lorong Jalan Semaba 2B2 amounting to RM50,000.
“The upgrading works for both projects were completed on schedule,” he said upon witnessing the handover by the contractor to MPP on the project site.
Yap thanked MPP for monitoring and supervising the upgrading works to ensure that they were completed on schedule and with quality finishing.
He hoped that the completed upgrading of the two recreational parks would provide a more conducive venue for the residents to congregate and organise social activities.
Yap encouraged active recreation opportunities for all ages and contributed towards improving the quality of life for the local communities as well as improving property values for the area.
He hoped that the residents living near the two upgraded parks would also play their role and take an active part in maintaining them in the same way they care for their personal belongings and abide by all rules and regulations made by MPP.
Yap said he is committed to doing his part to secure more development funds from the State government and hoped Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen would follow suit in applying for more development funding from the federal government.
The contractors for the two projects were G-Wan Trading Company and Khamlza Sejati Enterprise. — DayakDaily
