KUCHING, June 17: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin presents a total of RM10,000 worth of grants to three associations during the ‘Pengerami Ngiling Tikai’ event yesterday.
The event, which was jointly organised by Persatuan Tenpin Boling Para Negeri Sarawak (PTBPNS), Pertubuhan Orang Cacat Sarawak (POCS) and Kuching Spinal Injuries Association (KUSIA), were held in POCS’ premises.
PTBPNS received a total of RM5,000, where RM2,000 is for the organisation of the Gawai event and another RM3,000 to help the association organise a bowling competition in July.
Another grant worth RM5,000 was shared among KUSIA and POCS.
Speaking during the event, Yap said that Sarawakians should not forget the significance of unity in diversity through festive celebration.
He also said the celebration of Gawai by all communities highlights the commitment of all Sarawakians to join together with a common purpose for the progress and development of the State.
“When we are united, we can surmount any challenges and accomplish any goals,” he added. — DayakDaily
