KUCHING, Feb 4: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has presented assistance in the form of funeral service equipment to Surau Al-Mukhlis of Kampung Stutong Melayu today.
The assistance comprising one unit of stainless-steel table, one unit of wash table and 10 sets of kafan cloth, was handed over to the surau’s chairman Sarip Lias.
Also present during the handover were Special Officer on Islamic matters in the Office of Premier of Sarawak (OPS) Sebi Abang and village chief (KK) Shaari Mahidi.
According to Yap, the contribution was made after the surau’s management committee had submitted a request to him.
“I hope this contribution will significantly assist the villagers of Kampung Stutong Melayu to carry out funeral last rites for their loved ones who passed away,” he said in a statement today. — DayakDaily
