KUCHING, Nov 9: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap announces that approval has been given for Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) funding totalling RM100,000 to repair and upgrade facilities at SK Mejar Jeneral Dato Ibrahim at 7th Mile, Jalan Depo Ranger, Kota Sentosa.
According to a press release issued today, the roof and ceiling of the school hall will be repaired and upgraded, with Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) serving as the implementing agency.
“YB Wilfred Yap will follow up with MPP to ensure that the works under the project can start soon,” read the press release.
Yap also handed over a total of RM10,000 under his Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) to assist and support the school in organising more sports activities and educational programmes necessary to meet the academic needs of the students.
According to the press release, Yap alsp officiated at the closing ceremony of ‘Karnival Panitia 2023’ organised by SK Mejar Jeneral Dato Ibrahim this morning.
The carnival aimed to encourage and motivate students to excel in various subjects taught in school through games and activities to make the subjects more interesting.
Yap congratulated the teachers and parents for organising the carnival as it provided a platform for students to apply the three principles of learning, which are learning to know, learning to do, and learning to live together.
He also affirmed his commitment to the non-politicisation of education in his speech, emphasising education’s importance as a tool for progress and advancement for communities in N12 Kota Sentosa. — DayakDaily
