KUCHING, July 20: About 110 vehicles set off for the ‘Konvoi Kembara Sarawak Merdeka’ from Kuching to Telok Melano today.
The convoy started their journey from Majma Mall along Jalan P Ramlee at about 9am and was flagged off by Deputy Sarawak Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian together with Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication II Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, and Senator Dato Ahmad Dato Ibrahim.
The convoy, which comprised 70 motorbikes and 40 cars, will be covering a total distance of 285km from Kuching to Telok Melano.
After arriving at Telok Melano, they will later journey back to Bau and will be flagged off by Tanjung Batu assemblyman Azizul Annuan Adenan and Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang.
In Bau, their arrival will be received by Deputy Minister of Transport Sarawak Dato Henry Harry Jinep and Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh, before being flagged off for their return to Kuching in the evening. — DayakDaily
