KUCHING, March 7: Kimi Tomas has made Sarawak proud by winning the Mrs Global Asian 2023 beauty pageant title recently held in Melaka city.
Apart from being crowned Mrs Global Asian, Kimi also managed to bag the Best National Costume Award and secured one of the top three spots for the ‘Darling of the Crowd’ category.
Hailing from Sarawak, Kimi said in a social media post that winning the title is one of the greatest achievements of her life.
Kimi had won the Best National Costume Award wearing a full tree bark corset crafted from a tekalung tree and a full tree bark skirt, a creation of fashion designer Gilbert Headhunter.
Dubbed the ‘Queen of Borneo’, Kimi added that she aspires to save the rainforest from deforestation so that the next generation may continue to enjoy the beautiful forests of Borneo. — DayakDaily
