Kilat Boy books slot to Asian World Boxing Championship

KUCHING, Feb 18: Sarawak’s sensational boxer Kilat Boy, whose real name is Daeloniel McDelon Bong, managed to grab a slot to compete in the Asian World Boxing Championship (WBC) this April, TVS reported.

The Sri Aman-born athlete secured the golden opportunity when he drew in the fight against Bangladesh’s Resatul Mahmud Sajin at the Path to Glory Featherweight Professional Boxing Championship in Dhaka, Bangladesh, yesterday (Feb 17).

Daeloniel recorded 57-57, 57-57 and 57-58 against Resatul in the six-round competition, which led to the judges announcing ‘Majority Draw’.


According to him, the competition results did not affect his ranking and rating, which allowed him to compete in the WBC Asia. — DayakDaily
