KUCHING, May 27: National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pick) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin will be in Kuching tomorrow (May 28) to meet with the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to discuss issues related to Covid-19 vaccines.

SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas revealed this during a press conference today when asked by the system hiccups in the national AstraZeneca (AZ) opt-in registration exercise yesterday (May 26).

“Tomorrow, YB Khairy will be around. So, you may direct the question to him because the system they have is handled by that side.

“But we (SDMC) will also raise that issue to him tomorrow as we have a discussion with him in the afternoon,” he said.

Uggah, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, added that Khairy would be giving a briefing to SDMC on details of the vaccination programme with the vaccines that he is bringing along to Sarawak.

He said SDMC would discuss with Khairy about the number of vaccine doses for Sarawak in the coming months of June, July and August.

It has been approximately a month since SDMC held its last press conference at the old State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex to give daily updates on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak.

Before Uggah started answering questions from the media, he reminded those present to stay at least six feet away from each other.

“First of all, I ask everyone to practise social distancing. Don’t be too close to one another,” he said, using his arms to demonstrate the distance of six feet which is equivalent to about two arms’ length. — DayakDaily
