In a news report by TVS, Loke stated that both parties are currently engaged in active negotiations on the matter.

“I have been informed that several meetings will be concluded in the coming weeks, and they aim to complete the process before year-end,” he said.

The Seremban MP disclosed this in Parliament today while responding to a supplementary question from Merbok MP Mohd Nazri Abu Hassan regarding the progress of the negotiations.

Additionally, Loke assured Mohd Nazri that Sarawak’s decision to take over MASwings would not impact existing flight ticket subsidies.

“I am confident that rural services will remain unaffected because we have an agreement with the Sarawak government. After the takeover, subsidies for rural services will continue and there will be no issues for residents in those areas,” he added.

On Oct 23, Loke had reiterated that the government would maintain subsidies for rural flights in Sarawak and Sabah, even after MASwings is acquired by Sarawak. — DayakDaily
