KUCHING, Dec 2: Stall applications for next year’s Chinese New Year bazaar at Kenyalang Park Commercial Centre Mall is open starting today.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the deadline would be at 4pm on Dec 16 (Friday).
“The annual Chinese New Year Festive Sale 2023 will be held from Jan 6 to Jan 23, totalling 16 days.
“Those interested may obtain the application forms at Counter 9 of the MBKS One Stop Service Centre,” he said in a press conference at MBKS headquarters today.
Fees will be charged for each stall (4ft x 8ft). There will be a total of 272 stalls available for rent.
For the public, it will be RM110 per stall, and for shop owners or tenants at Kenyalang Park Commercial Centre, it will be RM60 per stall for the two spaces in front of or beside their shop.
In terms of crowd expectation, Wee said the council estimates a few hundred thousand visitors to the yearly bazaar.
The organising chairman of this event is Cr Chai Ju Loon. The launching ceremony is tentatively set on Jan 6, to be officiated by Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian. — DayakDaily
