Kapit MP presents RM1.26 million in funds from Unifor to 8 missionary schools in constituency

KUCHING, Sept 2: Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has handed over RM1.26 million in funds from the Unit For Other Religions (Unifor) to eight missionary schools in Kapit.

In a statement today, Nanta, who is Kapit MP, stated that the funds were earmarked for the construction of new buildings, the upgrading of existing buildings, and the procurement of new furniture, information technology equipment, and sports equipment, as announced by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

“I hope that this contribution from Unifor can further encourage the development of students in these schools and further contribute to the development of Sarawak Maju Makmur 2030,” he said.

Nanta highlighted that the Sarawak government has always taken proactive steps to help provide a positive learning environment for students, regardless of background and religion.

A total of RM20 million to 120 missionary schools has been allocated by Unifor throughout Sarawak this year.

Meanwhile, Nanta also presented a contribution totalling RM434,000 to 39 recipients consisting of representatives of non-government organisations (NGOs), village security and development committees (JKKKs), parent and teacher associations ( PIBG), clubs, and associations in Kapit. — DayakDaily
