Kampung Taee fire victim gets RM70k allocation to build new house

KUCHING, Nov 2: An allocation of RM70,000 has been approved for the construction of a new house for George Jeep, a victim of a fire that occurred on Dec 22 last year in Kampung Taee.

As per a news report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada confirmed that this funding is a special allocation from the Sarawak State Disaster Management Department (JPBN) through the Serian Resident Office.

The new house will provide George with a more comfortable living space as he strives to rebuild his life after the tragic incident.

Dr Sinang made this announcement during a visit to Kampung Taee, accompanied by officials from the Resident’s Office, Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), and the Serian District Office on Wednesday.

During the same visit, Dr Sinang also revealed an additional allocation of RM10,000 to ensure the smooth implementation of the Projek Perumahan Rakyat Miskin Tegar (PPRT) construction project, adhering to the specified schedule and budget that will be awarded to the contractor in due course.

Meanwhile, during briefings, JKR conveyed that the project’s implementation would commence after the necessary paperwork procedures are completed, including the selection of contractors through a voting system.

In addition to Dr Sinang, the Acting Resident John Boyd, former Political Secretary to Sarawak Premier John David, and Pemanca Jacques Kantuh were also present during the visit. — DayakDaily
